Police duty gear

Sometimes the police duty gear that is considered to be more ordinary is just as important as guns and batons. Some of the items that you might want to have if you are a police officer or a security guard include:

• Handcuffs – These handcuffs may be more affordable than you think. A good, solid pair of handcuffs can be purchased for between $20-$30. Handcuffs are important pieces of police duty gear thanks to the fact that they can tremendously help an officer get an unruly person under control.

• Mace holder – Mace is certainly not as lethal as a gun, but it definitely can get the job done. This is an item of police duty gear that is used more often than guns thanks to the fact that it is both non-lethal as well as effective.

• Stun gun holder – As is evidenced by clips of officers using stun guns on videos on the Web, these guns are quickly becoming one of the weapons of choice for police officers. These guns need to have a special holster that is designed to hold them. A stun gun holder allows an officer to have easy access to the stun gun and minimizes the risk of an officer accidentally shooting himself with the stun gun.

In addition to this police duty gear, officers also need the essentials like sunglasses, gloves, medical kits, flashlights and other items that they will likely use on a daily basis. Most police duty gear is easy to find and purchase as long as it is not dangerous or lethal. Lethal weapons are far more difficult to obtain.
